Oil painting is one of the main genres in Western painting.It s a painting art that made by using the fast-drying oil paint and draw pictures in treated canvas, board, thick paper and the wall. Early oil painting were adopted by one painting mathod called ” Tempere “,which means drawing with a mixed mineral pigments of egg yolk or egg white. Then the thin and transparent oil color would be covered in the painting. In the 15th century, the Netherlands artist Van Eyck brothers used peanut oil, flaxed oil and fast-drying oil as concoction so that the color is easy to reconcile,This mathod was widely used later. Characteristics of this mathod are: the painting pens could be used freely and the painting colors could be laid at various levels so as to enhance color brightness, fully reflect actual feeling of objects and rich color effects, Since then, new materials and new techniques spread throughout Europe quickly.Therefore Van Eyck brothers were called the creater of European oil painting. In the early 20th century, There were more and more oil painting -learner painters in China, LiShuTong(1880-1952) was the first oil painting-learner painter and bring this technique to China.
